A Sigh of Relief for Your Lower Back: Supported Bridge
Carrie Bergen-Geisel | SEP 22, 2025

If you spend long hours at a desk, you know how quickly the lower back can tighten up. One of my favourite ways to counter that stiffness is the Supported Bridge Pose. It's a gentle, restorative backbend that feels amazing after a long day of sitting.
In this new video, I walk you through different variations so you can find the version that feels best in your body. Whether you use a yoga block or a pillow, each option offers a slightly different level of lift and support.
Why it helps:
Supported Bridge lengthens the hip flexors and front body while creating space in the lumbar spine. The light, passive backbend encourages the deep core and glute muscles to engage just enough to stabilise the pelvis, which can ease tension in the sacrum and lower back area. Many people notice improved circulation and a subtle energising effect afterwards.
Take a few minutes to stretch, breathe, and help reset your lower spine.
