Are you ready to embark on a journey of self-discovery and holistic well-being?

I'm excited to share with you what makes my yoga classes unique and how they can benefit you. Whether you're new to yoga or a seasoned practitioner, my approach is designed to help you connect with your body, mind, and spirit in a supportive and empowering way. Here are the key principles that guide my classes:

1. This Is Your Practice - I'm Your Guide, Not Your Drill Sergeant 😊

In my classes, you are the focus. I am here to guide you, but ultimately, your practice is your own. It's important to listen to your body above all else.

Pain should never be a part of your practice, so always choose the movements and poses that feel right for you. You have the choice to select the modifications I offer that resonate with you. Feel free to modify any pose or even switch to a different one that suits your needs better.

Remember, yoga is not about how you look in a pose but how you feel. Let go of any concerns about appearance and embrace the experience.

2. No Goal Pose - You Set Your Own Goal

Yoga is a personal journey, and I believe there is no "perfect" pose to strive for.

In my flow classes, we encourage the body to experience the three planes of movement—side-to-side, front and back, and rotationally—to help improve mobility and provide a well-rounded practice. I love dynamic stretching using yoga, qi gong and somatic movement to benefit our joints, muscles, and fascia, ending with static stretching to calm the nervous system and leave the practice feeling balanced.

In yin yoga classes, we hold poses for longer periods. Here, it's crucial not to push to your maximum. Think of it as working at about 40% of your capacity—find a position where you feel something happening but are still comfortable. This approach helps target the yin tissues, including ligaments, joints, and bones.

I believe in self-empowerment, so I don't offer hands-on assistance in the in-person classes. Instead, I provide a range of modifications, allowing you to decide which option feels best for you, in the moment. This can change with each practice, giving you the freedom to explore and grow at your own pace.

However, I do offer hands-on touch for relaxation purposes, such as scalp massage, hand massage, foot rub, or snuggling you up in a blanket. I always ask for approval at the beginning of the class, and if you prefer not to be touched, you have the option to be left alone.

3. My Intention for Every Class

My intention for every class is as follows:

  • create a safe, non-judgmental space where you can find relief from anxiety and stress

  • provide modifications to make the practice accessible to various body types and personal goals

  • help you build strength and mobility within your body

  • offer variety—no two classes are the same, keeping your practice fresh and engaging

  • enjoyment—let's leave our worries at the door and focus on the joy of movement and mindfulness
